Signups for WJB Band usually takes place after a concert at each elementary school. Students who are interested in joining will sign-up on the concert day. There is usually an additional opportunity on Registration Day for WJB in late July.
Band students meet Tuesday - Friday throughout the year during the related arts period for their grade level. Students attend Physical Education classes on Mondays.
6th Grade band will be learning the fundamentals. At the first of the year the students will have an opportunity to have an instrument trial with most of the band instruments available.
7th and 8th Grade will be playing through required music and sight reading a lot each year. This will help with multiple reading skills and individual enhancements as well as self evaluations.

The Band instructor uses the Remind App to communicate on a weekly basis with parents to keep everyone posted on events, changes/updates, individual contact, and positive feedback.
